If you're using Windows go to Start, then Computer, then click on the Device the photos are on. Then just drag the photos to another folder on your computer (or the desktop) or copy and paste them.

You can't copy and paste in WMM (windows movie maker). You have to import the media.
Click on the Import button on the top left corner of your WMM. Browse for your media and click import (if it doesn't automatically import it for you).
Once you have your media in the Imported Media pane, drag it down to the Storyboard or Time-line view. You can add as much as you like to the tracks.
Remember, that once you are finished the movie, Publish it! Saving (or Save As) option only saves the project, which can only be opened in WMM and no other format. You must publish your video before it can be viewed in a media player, emailed, uploaded or burned to CD/DVD.
To Publish your movie:
> Click View and Tasks to open the task pane
> Click Publish to ——
> This computer
> Name the file and choose a destination to save it to
> Click Next
> Choose Best Quality for playback on my computer (recommended)
> Click Publish
Once the movie is published, you can burn it to CD/DVD.
