ringtones on Japanese cell phones??

I have a Toshiba phone with Vodafone. I don't know the model but its about a 1-2 years old. It has TV option and the screen flips over.
Anyways, I want to convert my MP3 to a ringtone and send it to my phone. I don't want to pay to download. I know it must be a SMAF or MP4 file but when I convert and try to send my phone won't accept it. I use a great site http://www.media-convert.com
When I recieve the email it won't let me download the SMAF file?? I can't check it to "recieve". Does anyone have any hints??

or SMAF file.
file size, less than 200k or 300k (maybe upto the model)
Probably you need to open the attachment after receiving email. But I am not sure what is going on with yours. I don’t hv Voda.

Sometimes phones are “locked” by the company so that the only Ringtones and Wallpapers that you can use on your phone are the ones you buy from the company or make on the phone yourself (ie, pictures you took or Memos you recorded)
Mine is one of them … bleh
