Can I email from my computer to a Japanese cell phone?

I tried emailing a friend on her cell phone that uses the company Docomo, but for some reason the mail can't be sent. I just sent the same email to my phone that uses Softbank, and it worked fine.
Is it the phone company or my email...? Ideas?

I do that all the time and it has never been a problem. Check the address again and make sure to add @docomo.ne.jp
In some cases, email addresses of Docomo or other cell phone ONLY accept emails from other cell phones.
If you have Softbank phone, just send the email to it and forward it to her phone.
